I'm Jaron, based in Santaquin, Utah. I've played trumpet and clarinet since middle school, and over time I've learned to play nearly all of the common wind instruments. I play many of them in community orchestras and bands and have also been hired to play on occasion. I also teach individual music lessons.

Since 2023 I've done instrument repair and refurbishment as a side business, sourcing and reconditioning student instruments for sale through The 3rd Half.

The articles on this site come out of that experience — years of playing across the full range of wind instrument types, noticing how they behave differently, and working through the physics that explains why. My goal is accurate, detailed content that a band director or serious player can actually rely on.
